Outdoor Burning

Before doing an outdoor burn check to make sure it is legal and safe. Here is information for unincorporated Grays Harbor county.

    Hello Chuck,

    Recreational fires generally do not require a permit. The only area is Grays Harbor that I am aware of that has restrictions on beach fires is Ocean Shores.

    In general:
    Use common sense,
    Fire should not be greater than 3 feet across and 2 feet high,
    Don’t burn garbage,
    Don’t build a fire where it could easily spread to other combustible materials,
    Make sure it is out cold before you leave it.
